"It's Time! It's Time to Awaken!"
As I gathered with fellow pastors just a few weeks ago, I was confronted by these words, and then I became keenly aware of their import. Indeed, it is time for our church, our state, and our nation to experience a spiritual awakening. My hope and prayer is that 2012 will be the year we see God's hand sweep across our lives in a powerful way.
Over the next Sundays, I will be sharing messages aimed at preparing us for such a movement. As we approach this time together, let me encourage you to:
- Awaken to the Word. Join us as we read through the Bible this year. A reading guide is available online HERE or you may pick up a reading guide in the church office.
- Awaken to the Mission. If you are physically able, commit 2% of your time (approximately one week) to a mission effort outside the city of Zachary.
- Awaken to Worship. In your personal and corporate experiences, commit yourself to a focused, genuine, and expressive worship lifestyle.
- Awaken to Prayer and Fasting. Specifically, join me (and other Baptists in Louisiana) for 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting during January 2-22. Pray for a personal renewal, pray for a spiritual revival in our community, pray for a transformation in our state, and pray for an awakening in our nation.
And don't forget, "It's TIME!"
